Participate

Join us in our record breaking attempt, either as a Class Participant, Instructor/Group Leader, Event Volunteer, or Community Partner!

Class Participants

We have set our goal for 10,000 (yes...10,000) participants to break the World Record and need YOU. Join our Facebook Page to see other people participating in the event as well as invite others to join in on the fun. Again, this event is FREE for all participants and will be appropriate for all ages, skills, and experience levels. Help us break the record while also promoting healthy active lifestyles in our community. If you have any questions on participation or would like more information to share with your friends and colleagues, please feel free to contact me at bdanzinger@hotmail.com.

Instructor/Group Leaders

We are proud to have Zumba© Licensed instructor Ms. Kari Merrill as our Lead Instructor who will be developing the choreography, music selection, and routine. However, with 10,000 participants, we are looking for instructors and other volunteers who are comfortable with Zumba©, Dance, or other choreographed aerobics.

Instructors/Group Leaders will be responsible for leading 100 participants in the event area per the rules of the Guinness Book of World Record. Also, all Instructors/Group Leaders will be specially recognized as instructors at the event...not just as a participant. The City of Green Bay will also have a special recognition for all Instructors/Group Leaders and we will be hosting a post-event party that you are welcome to attend. Please note that the City of Green Bay is the lead organization on this, so you will not have to worry about being associated with a rival gym or studio. This is a community and grass roots driven effort. However, at the event you are more than welcome to wear your studio's colors and logos with pride as we want to promote the numerous Zumba options that people have in the area. Routines will be shared with all Instructors/Group Leaders and a "test" run of the routines will be coordinated prior to the event (attendance at our practice "test" run is not required as we acknowledge some of our volunteers are coming in from outside the Greater Green Bay area).

If you are interested in being an Instructor/Group Leader, please feel free to contact me at bdanzinger@hotmail.com.

Event Volunteers

Because of the scale of the event, we are also looking for event volunteers to help with check-in, quick setup of the event space (basically drawing chalk "sections" on the ground and putting up some perimeter tape), directing participants to their sections, and helping with the overall count. In some cases, you can be an event volunteer AND a participant, so if interested in not only dancing your way into the records, but also helping us along the way, please feel free to contact me at bdanzinger@hotmail.com. Special thanks to the various members of City Hall, the Green Bay Neighborhood Associations, and the City of Green Bay who have already stepped up to help with this exciting endeavor.

Community Partners

Interested in having your business or organization be part of this historic event? We are looking for business and organizational partners to help us with the recruitment of participants. If your organization has a wellness program, promotes health and wellness in the community, cares about health and wellness, or have people who are excited about exercise, please feel free to contact me at bdanzinger@hotmail.com. We will have special sections dedicated for our community partners and can ensure that participants from a certain organization are grouped together (perhaps you can all wear matching shirts? Just a thought). Also, if your Dance Studio, Gym, or Exercise facility is interested in being a part of history, let us know and we can group your members together.

All Community Partners will be listed on our "Community Partners" page with a brief description and hyperlink to your Facebook or Website.

We are not charging for Partnerships as we want this to be a Community Driven effort. Instead we are asking companies and organizations to "pledge" participants. A special award will then be given to the company/organization that provides the most participants under their name as well as an award to the company/organization that provides the highest percentage of employee participation.
